Lord Ganesha · 4th Krishna Paksha tithi

Sankashti Chaturthi is observed on the 4th day of the waning (Krishna) fortnight each month. It is dedicated to Lord Ganesha for the removal of obstacles. The Angaraki Sankashti (when it falls on Tuesday) is especially powerful.

Fasting Rules
1.Fast from sunrise to moonrise
2.Worship Ganesha with modak (sweet), durva grass, red flowers
3.Recite Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat Katha
4.Offer 21 durva grass blades
5.Break fast after seeing the Moon and offering Arghya
