Definition
The lunar day in the Hindu calendar, based on the angle between the Sun and Moon. There are 30 tithis in a lunar month, with 15 in the waxing (Shukla Paksha) and 15 in the waning (Krishna Paksha) phase. Each tithi has specific qualities and is auspicious or inauspicious for different activities.
